DO NOT GO HERE!
DO NOT GO HERE! I worked here and also purchased a car here that was supposed to be certified, apparently the certified warranties mean nothing here. 2 days after purchasing the car the check engine light comes on. They told me due to a device being on the car I would have to wait until it was removed to have its serviced. 2 days after the device was removed, I make an appointment to bring it in and they tell me it is not covered under warranty because of some damage under the car. Mind you the car has never been in any accidents or any damage other than what it left there with being as it was a pre-owned. I can only imagine if I worked here and bought a car like this and they will not honor their certified used car warranty what kind of service the standard everyday customer would receive! I've heard several complaints and wanted to stand behind she Sheehy Toyota, as it turns out all those complaints were true. I was asked by the service department to leave a review so here it is! I did warn you that you would not like my review and if possible I would leave a bad review every single day of my life from here on out if it prevents someone else from this kind of treatment! I love my Camry but wish I would have had them put it on a lift or actually do their job before certifying a vehicle! If it were a simple $100 fix I may be able to even overlook it but they are trying to charge $3,500+ for something that went out of their shop listed as a certified vehicle! If you value your money do not shop here!

HARVKEL6, This review puts us in a difficult position because you are aware that there is a lot more to this situation but in the interest of privacy, there is only so much we can divulge. We do feel compelled to address this however, because your review strikes at the integrity of the Toyota Certified Used Vehicle program and we have to address that. In January of this year, the Camry in question underwent an extensive, 160 point inspection which included putting it on a lift and checking all vehicle systems. At that time, the car has just over 30,000 miles. In February of that year, you purchased it. In August of this year, the car was taken to a different Toyota dealership and they informed you that it had an impact to the exhaust near the catalytic converter and the exhaust would need to be replaced. The damaged exhaust is why the check engine light came on. The car had just over 39,000 miles at that point. One week later, you brought it to Sheehy Toyota of Fredericksburg where we told you the same thing. We also documented it by taking pictures of the damage which includes mud and dirt still attached to the undercarriage of the vehicle. This is clearly recent damage as it would be impossible for mud to still be present after 6 months and 9000 miles of use by the owner. The Toyota Certified warranty is one of the best in the industry and it is because the inspection and Certification process is very thorough. We stand behind it and if this were the result of a defect, Toyota would absolutely cover it. Because it is obvious that the problem is not due to a product defect but rather, recent damage unrelated to the dealership, neither Toyota nor this dealership bears responsibility for the repairs. Please don't hesitate to reach out directly with any further questions.
So I'm not supposed to have any kind of dirt underneath the car after driving at 9,000 miles?? That's pretty interesting as I do not know of any roads that are completely 100% clean in Virginia let alone Fredericksburg. The check engine light was on the car when I purchased it, in which I brought it to the attention of workers there. Out of respect to them I will not divulge their names either. However the damage to the had to have been there when I purchased it as well. There is nothing done to the car cosmetic wise since I purchased it. I suppose I should have put it on a lift to check it out myself before purchasing it. I love the car I just do not like the situation and the false claims. I do not care if you want to take responsibility for this or not and I can see now that this dealership is not going to own up to it. That is going to be on your hands not mine so is your reputation on the line. I did what was asked and waited till the breathalyzer was off the car and then brought it back. I took it to a dealer local to my work as a convenience to me so as not to miss work if possible. I was told it was simply an oxygen sensor from the very beginning when the computer was hooked to it so I had no idea the damage was that severe! Again, nothing is going to be done about the situation so there is no need to comment back any further. I just will not send anybody there that I know due to this as well as several other things that has went on and brought to my attention later on.
