Let me tell you something: I’ve bought cars before, but never from someone like Joel Hernandez. This dude is like a professor of cars and a therapist wrapped in one. I came in looking at a 2022 Rogue SV, kinda undecided. Joel said, 'Let’s talk first—tell me what’s important to you.' We talked about my dog, my 80-mile daily commute, and needing something dependable in Chicago snow. He said the Rogue SV was built for exactly that. The test drive was smooth. Financing didn’t feel like a trap. And he even got me a better rate by calling his bank contact directly. You don’t get that level of hustle from just anybody.

Ladies—if you want someone you can trust and who won’t

Ladies—if you want someone you can trust and who won’t talk down to you at a dealership, Joel’s your guy. I came to Old Orchard Nissan alone and expected to be ignored or talked into something. Nope. Joel greeted me right away, asked what I needed, and walked me straight to a 2020 Mazda CX-5 Touring. He explained everything about the car, gave me space to think, and even brought over a bottle of water while I sat inside just thinking. He made financing super simple and didn’t try to push extra packages I didn’t want. I felt respected. That alone is worth more than any rebate.

I had my eye on a RAV4 for a while, but every dealership I went to felt like a hassle—until I walked into Old Orchard Nissan and met Joel. He greeted me like a neighbor. No sales pitch, no fake urgency. Just, 'What can I help you find today?' He showed me a 2021 RAV4 LE that checked every box: low mileage, excellent condition, and priced right. I never thought I'd fall in love with a SUV, but here we are. I'm a mom of three and carpool queen of the neighborhood. My minivan was dying a slow death and I wanted something stylish, safe, and fully loaded. Joel showed me a 2022 Kia Telluride SX Prestige and it was love at first sight. From the Nappa leather seats to the panoramic sunroof, I felt like I stepped into a luxury car but with a family budget. Joel was patient, helpful, and treated me like a person, not just a mom trying to make a quick deal. He helped me run through every safety feature, folded down seats to show me space, and was even honest about things that other sales guys would gloss over. I'm a performance junkie.

I'm a performance junkie. Always have been. I walked in knowing I wanted something loud and fast but also modern enough to not feel like a project car. Joel showed me a 2021 Dodge Charger R/T and that thing looked mean in matte black with black wheels. The moment I started it up and heard that exhaust rumble, I knew. Joel could tell, too. “Yeah, that’s the sound of no regrets,” he said. We laughed. We talked specs, ran the numbers, he got my trade-in appraised fast, and I didn’t feel like I was stuck at the dealership all day. I was in and out in a few hours. Joel made it easy. I've had the car two weeks now and every red light feels like an opportunity. Worth every penny.

I was browsing “just in case” and somehow ended up

I was browsing “just in case” and somehow ended up driving home in an Audi A4 Quattro Premium Plus. Joel is that good. The car was sleek, clean, had under 50k miles and all the bells and whistles. We talked about turbo engines, German handling, and even our favorite driving roads. Joel knows his stuff, not just about Nissan but all cars. He didn’t flinch when I got picky — he matched my energy, and it felt like a true car enthusiast conversation. By the time I signed, I felt like I made a friend, not just a purchase. I’ll definitely be back.

Joel was a total breath of fresh air. I was nervous going into this because I’ve had bad experiences in the past. But the way Joel walked me through everything—from car selection to finance terms—was pure class. He helped me land a beautiful 2021 Mazda3 hatch in deep blue. Sporty, techy, fun to drive. He explained every button, every screen, every setting. Financing was fast. The delivery was clean. And Joel even called me a week later just to ask, 'How’s the ride treating you?'
