Careless Service Department

I brought my leased vehicle in for servicing (tire & oil change). The mechanic working on the vehicle was dropping my wheels and pushing them across the garage to the other side where the tire machine as located. After we had already left, 2 and a half hours after our scheduled appointment, we noticed the wheels were scratched already around the outer rim as well as multiple scratches on the spokes. We contacted the service department, specifically the service manager, LeeAnn Krauss. She advised that the vehicle had come in that way. My vehicle is regularly detailed - if the wheels had been scratched before my service appointment, I certainly would have noticed. We argued back and forth for a good while and the best solution she could come up with was to pay half of the repair costs to have the wheels repainted. I have tried multiple times to make an appointment to bring my vehicle to the dealership to have the wheels repainted, however each time, they seemed to not have a loaner vehicle available for me to use while my vehicle was in their possession. The issue had not been resolved and we hadn't been back since due to their inability to service vehicles in a timely manner and their carelessness with the customers' vehicle.

car wouldn't shift

Went to the Abeloff Nissan dealership in Bartonsville on 1/11/2019 to have a 2013 Nissan Altima looked at because it wouldn't shift into gear.It would only shift into gear by pushing something into the shift lock hole then you can get it to shift into gear. The gentleman in the service department- Jon Voulo said it would take 1 hour and cost $115.98 ($122.94 after tax) for the technician to look at the vehicle and give a diagnosis. The technician Ken Fenston wrote in his report the following-"verified customer concern.Found shifter inoperable upon arrival without depressing shift lock mechanism.Removed shift lock assembly and inspected each component.Found issue resulting in internal failure located within pig tail connecting to shift lock mechanism.Cannot service this component.SHIFTER ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED" This Abeloff Nissan dealership wanted to charge $843.75 to correct the issue I was having with this vehicle. The service department gentleman-Jon Voulo said it would take 2 hours of labor to complete the job. That being said I found out that all of what they said in their "report" was not true at all.The "REAL" problem I was having was not having a "short" in the pig tail it was a micro switch.(which cost $50 tops- you can probably get it cheaper if you shop around)The micro switch is what controls the solenoid to move in order for you to be able to shift into gear.Over time the little metal tab on the micro switch bends too much and shifter is not able to make contact. It seems like this a common issue in Nissan Altima's from the years 2011-2018 and I believe these dealerships know that but wont tell you because after all their in business to make money (like we all want to do) I believe the technician Ken Fenston was not being honest when he said he removed shift lock assembly and inspected each component. (ok I'll say it -he lied) So please take into account that not everyone who walks into your dealership who you think doesn't have the wisdom and knowledge is to believe everything you say to them.I haven't decided yet if I'll bring the vehicle back to Abeloff Nissan but if I do it'll be probably for the changing of the windshield wipers (I hope I don't get charged 2 hours labor) and yes I did get the vehicle repaired. The only reason why I gave you guys 4 stars for friendliness is because everyone is friendly when they want your money

Dealer response

We're very sorry to hear you didn't have a positive experience with our Nissan store and would love to speak with you to get more details about the issue with your Altima. Our service manager LeeAnn Krauss had tried to reach you but was unable to connect via phone. If you could please call her at the dealership at 570-517-0200 she'd love the opportunity to speak with you!

Great Experience

After shopping for weeks online I went to Abeloff and the rest is history. The contact through email with Maylen was absolutely outstanding and then when we came to the dealership she set us up with Brendon Myers. After a few test drives we found a 2015 Nissan Rogue that we loved. The day I came to pick the car up my salesman Brendon asked if I could hang for a few minutes because they decided to put new tires on the vehicle for me before I took it home for no extra charge. The experience from top to bottom was outstanding and I highly recommend this dealership and Brendon.

Brake job done RIGHT!

Had my Nissan NV 2500 for a year (bought used from a different dealer). Brought it to Abeloff's for state inspection, oil change, and tire rotation. Service Manager, Tim advised the brake calipers were rusted beyond expectation. This issue was overlooked by the dealer that did the last inspection (Scranton area) on the van because apparently, I was using the front brakes for the whole year. The mechanics used their due diligence on finding a serious issue that was overlooked or not dealt with by the dealer I bought my van from. It was a tedious job that lasted for hours using up to 3 mechanics. The cost was reasonable considering the intensity of the job overall. My next vehicle just may be bought from Abeloff's. Thank you!

WORST DEALER IN POCONOS. LIARS

THAT WEASE OF A LIAR,DAN THE FINANCE MGR TOLD ME SO MANY LIES THAT IT WAS DISGUSTING. first he says we are close to a deal at my requested price but needs to call a few more banks in the morning as it was near 8 pm. I had to call him7 times the next day to reach him as he never called me back. then tells me he cant do anything till I have a cosigner as the bank wanted it.( I CALLED THE BANK AS I HAVE DEALT WITH THEM B4 AND THEY SAID THEY DIDNT WANT A CO SIGNER, THE DEALER WANTED THAT!).. I CONFRUNTED THEM WITH THEIR lie AND THEY CALLED THE BANK TO GET A LETTER TO cover their a$$ then..surprisingly.. he jacks up the price another $50 a month...I argued with him and he said he could do nothing HOWEVER when my fiancé went in that afternoon to complain about something his car was missing, another finance mgr SHOWED HIM A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRICE....PLEASE..STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER. GO TO ANOTHER NISSAN IF YOU HAVE TO BUT DONT GET CAUGHT IN THE B.S. I WENT THROUGH. I DID NOT BUY THE CAR AND I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THESE LIARS AGAIN..DONT GET BURNED... I COULD GO ON AND ON BUT THERE ISNT ENOUGH ROOM.. LEARN FROM MY ERROR AND STAY AWAY!!!!!

Johnny

it was a pleasure dealing with our sales person, Rick, and the entire staff at Abeloff. Everyone was extremely courteous and professional. They easily exceeded any experience I have had in the 30 years I have been leasing cars.

Would give zero stars

After being told that a state inspection was done on my car, i noticed that there was no sticker. I called and spoke to a service tech that told me i was wasting his time because i don’t pay for the service repairs or inspections due to the lease that i possess. My father went in and was treated poorly, they implied that he was incompetent due to his accent. This is the 10th car my father had bought from this dealership. Lost story short we will no longer give them our business.

Dealer response

Daniella we're sorry to hear about your experience with us and it's our understanding that you've spoken with LeeAnn Krauss our service manager about your initial visit and that you came back in yesterday and had everything taken care of that needed to be addressed. If that's not the case please let us know as we'd love to continue to earn your business moving forward. Thank you!

Service advisors, Manager are plain stupid

They refused to replace my side panel with paint chipping and said since i had underbody work done(ran over a curb)it voided tbe warrenty on the whole car which is completely unacceptable because there was no body damage. Terrible dealership would not recommend in my lifetime.

Dealer response

We're sorry you weren't happy with your experience with our service department. Upon our inspection of your vehicle we saw evidence that the vehicle had incurred some type of damage to it that based on the parameters Nissan gives us wouldn't be covered under their warranty. Unfortunately we need to abide by the rules and parameters Nissan sets forth for us and the issues we found would fall outside of those parameters.
