I have bought over 100 cars in my life and this purchase

I have bought over 100 cars in my life and this purchase was the worst ever! This was an out of state sale. BMW of Carlsbad said they could not register the car or collect sales tax for out of state sales but would give me all the documents needed to title and register the car in my state. (I have bought more than a dozen cars out of state and every other dealer took care of the registration in my home state, at the time of sale.) This was a simple cash sale with no trade in. I had the car in ten days but it took more than three weeks from when I agreed to buy the car until I had the paperwork necessary to properly register it so that I could actually drive it. For a new car a Certificate of Origin is MANDATORY and MUST be surrendered to get the first title for the car. I had to argue with them to provide that. After I received the car they told me the paperwork would go out on Friday, then Monday, then end of the week. Finally got the paperwork on the following Tuesday. In response to the GM, Darrin Fetterolf?s, generic ?we are here to help? email I asked for his assistance, twice, to get me the paperwork. No response from him so I requested help from AutoNation?s customer service. AutoNation told me someone would contact me the next business day. Again no response. No wonder AutoNation has a 1.3 out of 5 star rating. One star is the minimum you can give them. If you are an out of state purchaser look at the reviews from other out of state purchasers and decide if you really want to use this dealer. I wish I would have done that.

Please avoid this dealer at all costs. AutoNation owns them and unfortunately they are committed to scamming their customers. They have been sued and lost in court in the past. My situation- I had an agreement to pay x amount for a lease and BMW finance corp sent me an email a few days after I signed my lease with that payment info listed, as agreed to. However, when finance at this dealership location sent me a copy of my contract, they had charged me $113 more monthly due to aftermarket warranties that I had told them I did not want. I had a witness with me. Frederick (Fred), in the BMW Carlsbad finance dept at this dealership, added warranties that I specifically declined. When you try to get resolution at the dealership they will stall you because you only have limited time to cancel these warranties. If you go directly to warranties dept with Auto Nation, you can cancel but they will tell you that the refund will come off of the remaining principal owed and not off of the monthly amount, despite it being a lease that you may not purchase out after your lease term is up. The lady I spoke to said “They did you dirty” direct quote speaking about this BMW of Carlsbad dealership. She suggested I call customer relations. I have spent 2 weeks calling and emailing and they will either not respond or will tell you someone will get back to you but they never do. The Attorney general of CA has a consumer relations unit that you can submit info to online for further investigation. https://www.dca.ca.gov/consumers/complaints/consumer.shtml If you’ve been a victim of this dealership or of AutoNation, I suggest you contact the AG. Very unfortunate that a corporation would act like this and that people working for the corporation - Sales, Finance, Customer relations- would participate in this type of behavior.

Had a great experience with Carlsbad BMW.

Had a great experience with Carlsbad BMW. Worked with me on my trade in, upgraded to a newer BMW and the whole process was easy and effortless. I would absolutely come back and buy another vehicle again from this dealership. Beautiful showroom as well.

My trade in deal was cancled due to poor repair job on

My trade in deal was cancled due to poor repair job on their vehicle, they tried telling me i have to pay for services done to my car in order to get it back. Supposedly an oil change and alignment was done on my trade in. When i got my car back there was absolutely no service done.
