Used Car Buyers Be Aware
I bought a used Jeep from AutoNation Ford in Ft.Worth on 1/2/24. At the time it needed a seal replaced on the left axle & brake pads replaced. I decided to complete the purchase since the repairs were simple. During delivery to me on 1/8/24, the Check Engine light came on. The AutoNation Ford service department was unable to diagnose the problem so it was sent to AutoNation Jeep on 1/11/24. They determined the intake manifold gasket & O2 sensor needed to be replaced. The gasket was replaced but on 2/9 the O2 sensor remained on back order. I decided to go ahead & take delivery and return to complete service after the part arrives. Alex, our AutoNation Sales Associate did a great. He stayed in touch with me during the entire time. The problem at AutoNation is two fold. (1) It started when the Jeep was taken in by AutoNation. Their system immediately list the vehicle for sale when it hasn?t gone through their inspection process and any required repairs made. A potential buyer is not aware of this when shopping on line. (2) The AutoNation Service Department has issues with communication & not having the required diagnostic tools to do the job. I want to make future customers aware to not buy a used vehicle from AutoNation is any service is pending. I saw several One Star Reviews by customers that encountered the exact same problem I did.
