Who doesn’t love a little free maintenance? The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder is mostly staying the course with hardly any changes from the 2024 model, but the brand is adding three free oil changes to every Pathfinder sale to sweeten the deal. It remains a reasonably priced three-row SUV, starting at $38,460 (all prices include $1,390 destination).

The Nissan Maintenance Care program offers up to three free oil changes in the first 24,000 miles or two years of ownership, whichever comes first. Other changes for the SUV are limited to the Rock Creek and SV trims, which now get the same power liftgate with position memory that was previously only included on the SL and Platinum trims.

A Trim for Every Path

The 2025 Pathfinder’s five trim levels carry over from 2024, ranging from the base S to the mid-grade SV and SL to the top Platinum. Front-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive as a $2,000 upgrade across the lineup. Buyers can choose between an eight-seat three-row layout and a seven-seat interior layout with second-row captain’s chairs.

Additionally, there’s an off-road-oriented Rock Creek trim, which features standard 4WD, an off-road-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels shod with all-terrain tires, a roof rack capable of carrying up to 220 pounds, LED foglights, second-row captain’s chairs, orange upholstery stitching and a 360-degree camera system with off-road terrain views.

As with last year, every trim features Nissan’s full Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of standard safety and driver-assistance tech, which includes blind spot warning, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, rear automatic braking and rear cross-traffic alert.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

Under the hood of most Pathfinders is the same engine as the 2024 model’s, a 3.5-liter V-6 that makes 284 horsepower and 259 pounds-feet of torque in most trims; the Rock Creek’s version is tuned to make 295 hp and 270 pounds-feet of torque on premium gasoline. All Pathfinders feature a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The S, SV and SL trims can tow up to 3,500 pounds. That towing capacity jumps to 6,000 pounds on the Platinum and Rock Creek versions as well as on SV and SL trims equipped with the Premium Package. The available 4WD system also features seven different drive modes that adjust the Pathfinder’s settings to different terrain styles or weather conditions.

While the EPA hasn’t listed fuel-economy estimates for the 2025 Pathfinder yet, Nissan claims that FWD versions keep the 2024 model’s EPA-rated 20/27/23 mpg city/highway/combined. With 4WD, the S, SV and SL trims achieve 21/27/23 mpg, while the extra luxuries of the Platinum keep it to 20/25/22 mpg. The extra off-road gear for the 4WD-only Rock Creek trim dials back its fuel economy ratings to 20/23/21 mpg.

Availability and Pricing

The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder is on sale now. Pricing for each trim is as follows.

  • S: $38,460
  • SV: $41,450
  • SL: $44,650
  • Platinum: $51,200
  • Rock Creek: $46,550

Versus the Competition

We tested a 2024 Pathfinder Platinum — which carries over as-is for 2025 — as part of our 2024 3-Row SUV Challenge. It landed second-to-last in our comparison of seven vehicles in the hotly contested segment thanks to a less comfortable third row, rough engine idle and lack of cargo space with all three rows in use, but there wasn’t actually a bad option in our head-to-head test.

The Pathfinder was the easiest to see out of, and it landed a three-way tie for first when it came to the ease of fitting child-safety seats. It featured clever organizational options throughout the interior, and opting for the roof rack could help alleviate the lack of cargo space inside if you need to use all three rows on a longer trip. Families looking for a three-row SUV are spoiled for options, and the Pathfinder remains a good one for 2025.

The entire team at Fenton Nissan of Mcalester was more

The entire team at Fenton Nissan of Mcalester was more than accommodating and helpful in finding my new vehicle. Levi went above and beyond to help get me in exactly what I wanted to be in and not letting me settle for one I would be unhappy with later. I would highly recommend them and him to help you get in a new vehicle.
