Lexus has been chasing downmarket electric-vehicle buyers since the RZ launched for the 2023 model year. For 2024, the company debuted the RZ 300e, a cheaper, front-wheel-drive variant that dropped the base price $4,500 in the process. Now, for 2025, the RZ is getting an even bigger price cut. From the 2024 model’s base of $55,175, the RZ 300e Premium falls to $48,175 for 2025, while another new entry-level trim, simply called the RZ 300e, starts at just $43,975, a whopping $15,675 cheaper than the base price of the RZ in its first year on sale (all prices include destination).

Powertrain Specs and Range

The RZ is available in two basic configurations: the single-motor, front-wheel-drive RZ 300e and the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive RZ 450e. The RZ 300e’s motor generates 201 horsepower and 196 pounds-feet of torque, while the RZ 450e’s produce a combined 308 hp.

The RZ 300e has a slightly larger battery pack than the 450e (72.8 kilowatt-hours to 71.4), and Lexus says it keeps the same EPA-rated range as the 2024 model: 266 miles with the standard 18-inch wheels or 224 with the available 20s (official EPA figures for 2025 are not yet available). With its smaller pack and higher output, the RZ 450e is rated at 220 miles on 18s or just 196 miles on 20s. On the upside, though, both RZs can juice up from low to 80% in about 30 minutes on a DC fast charger.

Availability and Pricing

The 2025 Lexus RZ will go on sale late in 2024. Full pricing is as follows:

RZ 300e

  • Base: $43,975
  • Premium: $48,175
  • Luxury: $53,905

RZ 450e

  • Base: $48,675
  • Premium: $52,875
  • Luxury: $58,605

Safety Features and Trim Levels

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard on every 2025 Lexus RZ and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, oncoming vehicle detection with automatic braking, emergency steering assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane departure steering assist, lane-centering steering and road-sign recognition. Blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert and safe exit assist are also standard.

In addition, the base RZ 300e and RZ 450e include 18-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and keyless entry and start. The entry-level RZ is upholstered in synthetic leather and features heated power-adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, 10 speakers and a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Upgrading to the Premium trim with either powertrain adds a fixed panoramic moonroof, hands-free power liftgate, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera system, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking.

At the top of the RZ lineup, the Luxury trim features 20-inch wheels, front cross-traffic alert, traffic-jam assist, lane-changing assist, automated parking and Digital Key, which allows owners to use their smartphone as a vehicle key. Inside, the Luxury gains synthetic suede upholstery, heated outboard rear seats, a 10-inch head-up display and a 13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system.
