What Is the 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

The Chevrolet Trax is a subcompact SUV that can seat up to five people. It’s powered by a 138-horsepower, turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that drives a six-speed automatic transmission. Front- and all-wheel-drive models are available. Competitors include the Kia Soul, Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V

What’s New on the 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

There are no significant changes this year.

What Features in the 2020 Chevrolet Trax Are Most Important?

The standard 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, and 4G LTE connectivity with a Wi-Fi hot spot (data subscription required after initial trial period) can help you stay connected on the go. A 60/40-split folding backseat and a fold-flat front passenger seat enable the Trax to carry items up to 8 feet long inside the cabin. Available active safety features include blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning and lane departure warning.

Should I Buy the 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

The Trax offers good visibility, a tall seating position and rides well, but you must put up with its weak, noisy engine. A lack of advanced safety features on lower trim levels isn’t great, either. The all-new 2021 Trailblazer is another small SUV option within the Chevrolet family.

This is my first crossover.

This is my first crossover. I've been a truck and SUV person for about 20 years. When my truck was stolen and totaled, I bought this car used with 84k miles on it. The first week I had it the water pump went out, I kid you not. Not good so far, huh? The good thing is the car told me " car overheating, idle engine." My mechanic says newer vehicles are made to warn you before overheating causes damage to the engine. Thank God. I like the car, I'm actually starting to love the car. Trunk space is minimal, seats arent the most comfortable, I miss having a center storage space, and a passenger armrest would have been nice. The radio is kind of small to be tinkering with while driving, and I wish Android auto was wireless with built-in wifi (newer models have this) but the steering wheel controls help me overlook this minor inconvenience. This car is the only car I looked at with all the options I wanted for this year and price: remote start, extra CLEAR backup camera, push start, power driver seat AND park assist which alot of cars are phasing out these days in favor of things manufacturers believe consumers find more desirable. The blind spot indicators and cross traffic warning is nice as well and the ac blows freezing cold. You really get lots of bang for your buck. Oh and I was surprised by how well it handles bumps in the road, my last vehicle made me seasick going over those big speed bumps, not this car, it's extra smooth. I can't buy large hauls at rummage sales or thrift stores anymore because there's not enough space to haul them home, but there's plenty of room for me and the grandkids. I really wasn't financially prepared to buy a car right now and couldn't afford to buy brand new. But TBH, I find this model year of this car prettier than the new ones and overall am really pleased with my purchase. I'm getting older and this will probably be the last car I'll ever own or drive and I'm glad it was this one. Thank you Chevrolet.

I’ve had no issues with this!

I’ve had no issues with this! Even braving the Minnesota winter roads was nothing for it! I slid and the car handled it like a champ! Very reliable, great gas mileage, and very comfortable!
