What Is the 2022 BMW X7?

The X7 SUV is the largest vehicle in BMW’s lineup, and it can seat up to seven people in three rows. The xDrive40i version is powered by a 335-horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, while the M50i gets a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 that makes 523 hp. Both engines work with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard. An Alpina XB7 version that’s powered by a 612-hp, twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 is also available. X7 competitors include the Mercedes-Benz GLS and Land Rover Range Rover

What’s New on the 2022 BMW X7?

Power side window sunshades replace manual ones in the M50i.

What Features in the 2022 BMW X7 Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 12.3-inch digital instrument panel
  • 12.3-inch multimedia system
  • Navigation with over-the-air map updates
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity
  • Forward collision warning with city collision mitigation
  • Lane departure warning
  • Blind spot warning

Available features include:

  • Low-speed hands-free driving system
  • Second-row captain’s chairs
  • Heated front- and second-row seats
  • Head-up display
  • 360-degree camera system

Should I Buy the 2022 BMW X7?

The X7 will carry your family in luxurious style, and it offers impressive V-8 performance — for a price. We like the availability of second-row captain’s chairs, but, oddly, they don’t fold flat when you need more cargo space, which limits the SUV’s versatility.
