Despite being among the oldest products in the brand’s portfolio, the Audi Q5 remains the brand’s bestselling vehicle by a tremendous margin, nearly outselling its second and third most popular models combined. While Audi is leaving the SUV mostly untouched for the 2025 model year, it’s adding a number of new option packages across the Q5 family.

Family Matters

The 2025 Q5 lineup includes a broad array of powertrains and trim levels. The basic Q5 is available with three versions of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. In the Q5 40, the four makes 201 horsepower and 236 pounds-feet of torque; in the Q5 45, it generates 261 hp and 273 pounds-feet. The Q5 55 is a plug-in hybrid in which the four-cylinder is assisted by an electric motor and a 17.9-kilowatt-hour battery that lofts output to a total of 362 hp and 369 pounds-feet; it has an electric range of 23 miles, per Audi. Things are more straightforward with the SQ5, which just gets a 349-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 good for 369 pounds-feet. The Q5s have a seven-speed automatic transmission, while the SQ5 gets an eight-speed automatic, and all-wheel drive is standard across the line.

In addition to the diverse powertrain lineup, the Q5 45 and SQ5 are available in either standard SUV form or as a Sportback with a coupe-like fastback roofline. Every Q5 and SQ5 derivative is also available in three trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige.

What’s New

Additions to standard equipment for the 2025 Q5 are keyless entry for all variants, keyless starting for the Q5 40, and red brake calipers for the SQ5 and SQ5 Sportback. Navigation and customizable ambient lighting are now standard on Premium Plus trims.

A new Convenience Plus Package for the Q5 40 and Q5 45 includes different wheels, a panoramic moonroof, a digital instrument panel and driver’s seat memory settings. On the Q5 45 Premium Plus and Sportback, the Black Optic Plus Package includes another new wheel design, as well as black exterior trim and roof rails, a black headliner and aluminum interior trim.

Two new packages are also available for the SQ5. Buyers choosing a black or gray interior can now add a different Black Optic Plus Package, this one including two-tone 20-inch wheels, as well as black finishes on the exterior trim, badging, mirror housings, front spoiler and rear diffuser. The package adds black roof rails on the SQ5 SUV and darkened headlights on the Prestige trim level. Black 21-inch wheels can also be added.

If black is too dour, buyers choosing the black or gray interior — and a white, black, gray or green exterior — can select the new Magnesium Gray Package. This package combines gold 21-inch wheels with a gray front spoiler, rear diffuser inlays and sill panels. It, too, features black finishes for the exterior trim, badging and air intakes, as well as black roof rails on the SQ5 SUV and darkened headlights with the Prestige trim.
