What Is the 2023 Volvo XC60?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is a five-seat luxury SUV that’s notable for its powertrain choices, handsome cabin layout and impressive lineup of safety features. A 247-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is standard on B5 models and can be had with front- or all-wheel drive. B6 models come standard with all-wheel drive and a 295-hp turbocharged and supercharged version of the base engine. The XC60 Recharge plug-in hybrid adds electric motors to the B6 engine to deliver an eye-popping 455 hp and 35 miles of electric-only driving range. The XC60’s rivals include the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Buick Envision, Lincoln Corsair and Mercedes-Benz GLC.

What’s New on the 2023 Volvo XC60?

Volvo has renamed the three primary trim levels offered on both the standard XC60 and the XC60 Recharge: the base Core, mid-level Premium and range-topping Ultimate. Other minor changes include new wheel designs and the addition of two new exterior paints: Bright Dusk Metallic and Black Stone.

What Features in the 2023 Volvo XC60 Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 9-inch touchscreen
  • Google-based navigation
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • 10-speaker audio system
  • Cloth upholstery
  • 12-inch digital gauge cluster
  • Power liftgate
  • Blind spot warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Lane departure steering assist
  • Lane departure warning

Available features include:

  • Leather seating surfaces
  • Surround-view parking camera system
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Heated rear seats
  • Quad-zone climate control
  • Head-up display
  • 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system
  • Heated steering wheel

Should I Buy the 2023 Volvo XC60?

The Volvo XC60 remains a great choice for SUV shoppers who value a comfortable ride, classy interior, and long lineup of standard and optional active-safety features. The ride does get much firmer if you opt for the larger alloy wheels, however, and the price of plug-in hybrid models is steep when scaling to higher trims.

Glitch that needs attention

Love this suv however when driving just a half hour the dash screen went black with a message “infotainment system cooling” restarted the car but no change. This had to be a recall but can’t find any info. Poor quality in an expensive car. Service department at dealer won’t answer their phone. Hoping they will call back
