The five-seat XC40 is Volvo’s smallest SUV and one of the Swedish automaker’s most impressive efforts. Stylish and nimble, the XC40 is offered with front- or all-wheel drive and a choice of two turbocharged engines: a 187-horsepower, turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder or a 248-hp, turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Both engines work with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Competitors include the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.

Should I Buy the 2021 Volvo XC40?
The XC40 is an impressive entry in the subcompact luxury SUV class. The T5’s engine is strong, and the SUV handles well. The interior is quiet and offers good storage space. However, rear visibility is limited, and the rear-seat cushion is low and not that long. We also wish the multimedia system had more physical controls.
