What Is the 2020 Volvo S90?

The Volvo S90 mid-size luxury sedan seats five and competes with the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6. It’s powered by a standard turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 316 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid model that can travel up to 21 miles on electric power alone, according to EPA estimates, is also available. Both versions of the S90 have all-wheel drive.

 What’s New on the 2020 Volvo S90?

New standard features for the Momentum trim level include leather upholstery, heated front seats and front park assist. Meanwhile, a new R-Design model features sport-oriented exterior and interior design cues and adds convenience features like four-zone climate control and power rear sunshades.

What Features in the 2020 Volvo S90 Are Most Important?

The plug-in hybrid version offers the most power with total system output of 400 hp, and the 21-mile electric-only driving range should be enough to cover modest daily commutes. A long list of standard active safety features includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist and Pilot Assist.

Should I Buy the 2020 Volvo S90?

You have to be willing to think outside the traditional luxury box to enjoy the S90. The ride with the standard suspension is firm and lacks refinement, and the lack of a mega-horsepower performance model might turn some luxury sports sedan shoppers away. Then again, the standard engine is still potent, and the plug-in hybrid model offers both efficiency and power. We also like the high-quality, distinctive interior that offers good passenger space.
