Highly Enjoyable, Economical and Sporty
This car is a blast to drive. Economical when you need it to be and is quite peppy if you get on it. The driver ergonomics are well thought out as well as the infotainment system. Everything is intuitive and where it should be. Try one out, you won't be disappointed.

My favourite car ever
I love this car, especially what the turbo does. For catching the lights and overtaking it?s like the poor man?s Audi !

Best daily driver
I can't think of a better car for daily commuting: quick, comfortable, understated looks, amazing interior quality for a $28k car, great gas mileage, reliable. I'm on my third Golf GTI, and it won't be my last.

The most under-appreciated car on the road
People think hatchbacks are what your granny drove back in the 70s, well they're not. The VW Golf family is award winning for a reason, and has been crowned the "best car in the world.... at any price range" numerous times for a reason. From the humble Golf, to the performance focused GTI and R models, there's something for everyone. All of the Golf models drive with the typical German poise, solid damped feel, yet they're never uncomfortable. You can blast down your favorite twisty road, then settle in for a long highway cruise in comfort and quiet. There's a level of fit and finish several classes above the competition. From the little things like felt-lined door pockets to the adjustable load floor in the trunk, they really do think of everything. Not to mention the fantastic MIB infotainment system. It's easy enough for your grandma to do it, but loaded with tech so you can accomplish all your mobile-tech needs.

40,000 mile review on 2016 Golf GTI
This car is a real sleeper. It will leave most other cars in it's dust and yet gets great gas mileage. I've seen well over 40 mpg on the freeway at 65mph with the a/c on many times. I bought the car new and other than three scheduled services, there have been absolutely zero issues with it. In fact, I live back in the country where the roads can be pretty rough, and it has not even developed a rattle in 40k miles. It has a very tight, refined feeling to the steering and is unusually quiet on the highway for a compact car. Speaking of the highway, drop it into fourth gear for passing and it is absolutely a mind blowing experience. Very few cars PERIOD can match the high speed power of this little car. My car is a manual 6 speed. Speed in gears is as follows: 40mph in 1st, 65 in 2nd, 90 in third, 125 in fourth and that's where the speed limiter kicks in. If the limiter where not enabled, I have no doubts this car could approach 150 mph. Show me another car this tight and quiet, with go kart handling, that has this potential yet can exceed 40mpg. It's an astonishing feat of engineering. OK, for options, if you are an audiophile you must get the Fender audio. I'm a musician and it is amazingly good. I also have the lighting package (HID adaptive headlights) which turn the way you are steering (cool!) and it's a must. Only thing I don't like is if you are a big person like me, the(leather) bucket seats are a little painful. I think the cloth would give more and be more comfortable but in any case there is plenty of legroom and headroom for tall people.

First and best car
This was my first car buying on my own and I could not have made a better choice I was always looking for a cool stylish car with some sport that isn't too expensive. This is it!!! The insurance rate is great and the payments are not bad either. This car is just a dime to me and I will love it until I get another brand new one.

The only car you need
If you need one car to do everything, the GTI is probably the best car you can buy. It's fun to drive, efficient, and very practical. I can't think of any combination of sporty and practical as good as the GTI. There's a reason every hot-hatch is compared to the GTI, it's the benchmark.

Fun car
This car met all my needs. I was looking for a daily driver that was also fun to drive. The 2.0 turbo charged engine is perfect for an everyday commute to have a little fun! 6 speed manual transmission shifts like butter.
