What Is the 2022 Toyota C-HR?

The Toyota C-HR is a cross between a coupe and an SUV, but it’s more of a tall four-door hatchback with the look of a two-door. Credit details like the heavily sculpted sides and hidden rear door handles for this look. Unlike other SUVs, the C-HR doesn’t offer all-wheel drive (it’s front-wheel drive only) and cargo space is limited.

The five-seat C-HR has a 144-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a continuously variable automatic transmission. While it stands out thanks to its sporty shape, competitors like the Honda HR-V, Jeep Renegade and Subaru Crosstrek are more practical and offer all-wheel drive.

What’s New on the 2022 Toyota C-HR?

The entry-level LE trim has been dropped for 2022, which leaves the XLE as the least expensive trim.

What Features in the 2022 Toyota C-HR Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity
  • Satellite radio with three-month trial
  • Dual-zone automatic air conditioning
  • 60/40-split, folding backseat
  • Forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane departure warning with steering assist
  • Blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Full-speed adaptive cruise control

Available features include:

  • Leather upholstery
  • Heated front seats

Should I Buy the 2022 Toyota C-HR?

The Toyota C-HR has a sporty appearance, and its small size makes it ideal for squeezing into gaps in traffic or snug parking spots. The cabin is surprisingly roomy, and the hatchback design adds a measure of utility. Rear visibility is an issue, however, and the backseat can feel claustrophobic due to tiny side windows. The lack of all-wheel drive, even as an option, could also be a problem for some shoppers.

So far, so good

What we liked first was that you sit in the front seats seated. Your shins are vertical, not out in front of you. It’s very stylish and still stands out. We enjoy the graphics on MPG and ALL the safety features. No complaints after owning it three months now.
