
Subaru has announced a significant price reduction for its 2025 Solterra all-electric SUV, which will now start at $39,915 before applicable tax credits (all prices include $1,420 destination fee). The starting price is $6,500 lower than the 2024 model, with no reductions in standard features. The lineup also introduces a new Touring Onyx Edition trim, featuring exclusive styling updates.

Pricing and Availability
The 2025 Solterra will be on sale early in 2025 and is available in four trims: Premium, Limited, Touring and Touring Onyx Edition. Prices are as follows:
- Premium: $39,915
- Limited: $43,415
- Touring: $46,415
- Touring Onyx Edition: $46,915
Subaru says the Solterra will qualify for federal tax credits of up to $7,500, depending on buyer eligibility.
Powertrain Specs and Range
All 2025 Solterras feature all-wheel drive and a dual-motor system delivering a total of 215 horsepower and 249 pounds-feet of torque. The Premium trim achieves an EPA-rated 114/94/104 mpg-equivalent city/highway/combined with a range of 227 miles, while the Limited and Touring trims are rated at 111/93/102 mpg-e with a range of 222 miles. The Solterra’s 72.8-kilowatt-hour battery can charge from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes using DC fast charging.
The Solterra offers 8.3 inches of ground clearance and includes the off-road-focused X-Mode functions with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings.
Trim Levels
The base Premium trim includes features such as an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, roof rails, 18-inch alloy wheels and basic connected vehicle services. Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist suite is standard across all trims and includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure steering assist, adaptive cruise control and lane-centering steering.
The Limited trim adds larger 20-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, heated rear outboard seats and a 360-degree camera system.
The Touring trim builds on the Limited by adding a panoramic moonroof, ventilated front seats, a digital rearview mirror and ambient lightning. The new Touring Onyx Edition gets gloss-black 20-inch wheels, exclusive black exterior accents and unique two-tone paint options. Inside, it features black interior trim and upholstery.
Buyers will also receive up to 10 days of complimentary Subaru vehicle rentals through the Subaru Just Drive program.
Subaru has maintained its focus on safety, with the Solterra earning a five-star vehicle rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration; the 2024 model also earned a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
