What Is the 2021 Ram Heavy Duty?

The Ram HD is a full-size pickup truck aimed at people with serious towing and hauling needs, as opposed to those who make the occasional weekend run to the home improvement store. It seats up to six and competes with the Ford Super Duty and Chevrolet Silverado HD. Available in 2500 and 3500 form, a 410-horsepower, 6.4-liter V-8 engine is standard, while a Cummins turbo-diesel 6.7-liter inline-six-cylinder is available. The diesel engine makes as much as 1,000 pounds-feet of torque in the 3500.

What’s New on the 2021 Ram Heavy Duty?

A new Limited Night Edition design package arrives this year. It includes monochromatic styling, black 20-inch wheels and special badges.

What Features in the 2021 Ram Heavy Duty Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Regular cab
  • 8-foot cargo box
  • Rear-wheel drive
  • Eight-speed automatic transmission
  • Bluetooth connectivity

Available features include:

  • Crew cab or Mega cab
  • 6-foot, 4-inch cargo box
  • Four-wheel drive
  • Six-speed automatic transmission (diesel engine)
  • 8.4- or 12-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • 360-degree camera system
  • Front and rear park assist
  • Blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane keep assist
  • 50-gallon fuel tank
  • Integrated trailer-brake controller

Should I Buy the 2021 Ram Heavy Duty?

The Ram HD should definitely be on your test-drive list if you need a full-size pickup truck for serious work. What sets it apart from the competition is its driving refinement — especially when equipped with the optional rear air suspension — as well as the quality and design of the interiors in the Laramie Longhorn and Limited. These trim levels have raised the bar for all full-size trucks.

2021 Ram 3500 crew cab long bed 4wd

Well mine is a tradesman. Meaning lowest model. It is a beast. Has plenty of power for a one ton gas engine. I have taken it on a couple of long trips highway drives and I actually got good gas mileage so I am pleased. Only thing I wish I had was a larger information screen. Backup camera is too small for such a big truck
