The nissan rogue select is a reliable vehicle, but the airbag light came on and want go off, the vehicle rides rough and loud due to the tires roar, even when new, the engine whines when going up hill, but I love the cargo space, and gas milage.

Avoid At All Costs!!

Because of this vehicle I will never own anything with a CVT transmission. We have had issue after issue with it. On a hot day you can't drive more than 30 miles without your gas pedal suddenly ceasing to work. You'll go from 80 mph to 40 suddenly. Apparently there is a safety feature where if the transmission gets too hot you can't accelerate. You have to pull over & wait 5-10 mins for it cool before getting back on the road but once it starts expect it to kick in every 15 miles after. I have never owned a better vehicle when it comes to driving in snow & rough terrain, I'll give it that. We took it back to the dealer where first they said they were going to replace the transmission but then changed their minds & just added a extra cooling fan to help cool the transmission. It has been nickle and diming us to death since we drove it off the lot. We just replaced the front axle then both rear axles went out. Replaced those & the relief we felt was so short lived because the very next day it starting knocking so hard underneath that I honestly thought a rod was going to skewer me at any moment. Yeah that was the sound of the differential carrier assembly going out. A pretty expensive fix for a vehicle with an unreliable transmission. We refuse to sink any more money into it. We've barely had it 2 years! These transmissions are notorious for going out once you get 150,000 miles on them. We're a little past that number. If the car was only in my name I'd let them repo it. I can't believe no recalls have been made on these issues. Most dealerships know to stay away from these because it's nothing but problems.
