What Is the 2025 Nissan Altima?

The five-seat Altima is Nissan’s mid-size sedan. Its sole engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that’s paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. It makes 188 horsepower with front-wheel drive and 182 hp with all-wheel drive. The Altima competes with the Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5 and Toyota Camry.

What’s New on the 2025 Nissan Altima?

For 2025, the Altima loses its previously available 248-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine but adds a Special Edition Package for the SV trim that brings exterior and interior styling tweaks and a few tech upgrades.

What Features in the 2025 Nissan Altima Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Fabric upholstery
  • 16-inch steel wheels
  • 60/40-split folding backseat
  • Remote start
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • Forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Blind spot warning
  • Lane departure warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking
  • Automatic high-beam headlights

Available features include:

  • Leather-trimmed seats
  • 19-inch alloy wheels
  • Heated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity
  • Wireless phone charging
  • Satellite radio
  • Bose premium stereo
  • 360-degree camera system
  • ProPilot Assist adaptive cruise control with lane-tracing steering

Should I Buy the 2025 Nissan Altima?

The Altima is a good value, with a full suite of safety tech. Available AWD is a plus, as is the car’s respectable EPA-estimated gas mileage. The Altima saw its last full redesign for the 2019 model year, and even with a freshening for 2023, it’s showing its age against the newer designs of most class rivals.

I just purchased my third Nissan Altima.

I just purchased my third Nissan Altima. It's the best vehicle I have ever owned. After many years of owning this model vehicle, I have NEVER had one breakdown or problem with the vehicle. It is a very durable and dependable car. The Altima is comfortable to drive, and service at Nissan dealerships is always excellent.
