DISAPPOINTMENT

Where to start with such a disappointing vehicle. The ride of the GLC43 is very harsh but there is little handling benefit. The transmission tuning is poor. Comfort mode (which is the default) is limp (it starts in 2nd gear and upshifts constantly with result that if you even look at the gas pedal it is busy downshifting) while Sport mode can feel at low speeds like a 16 year old learning to drive stickshift and otherwise is too aggressive for what is not a sporty vehicle. Yes, it gets some good times in car magazines but in the real world the car is slow unless you are flooring it. The infotainment has broken several times though it at least it has a controller which the new one doesn't have. And this is an SUV that I could not buy snow (or summer) tires for. It came with run-flats (avoid at all costs) and the ONLY run-flats in this size were the 4 season Goodyears. Now they make the GLC with an optional spare but my dealer would not sell me a spare kit for my car so I could upgrade the tires.

Smoothest car I have ever driven. Pure luxury

Great luxury vehicle for a family. Lots of comfort and roomy. Safety ratings are out of this world. Will never buy anything else. Ultimate all around best mid size vehicle.
