Mercedes-Benz is giving a mid-cycle update to the CLA Coupe for the 2024 model year that’s highlighted by the introduction of mild-hybrid powertrains to further the company’s broader electrification effort. The interior has been reworked, too, with an all-new infotainment screen paired to an identically sized digital instrument cluster.

Electrification Adds Jolt to CLA Performance
The 2024 CLA Coupe still comes with turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines, but the automaker has added 48-volt mild-hybrid assist to both the base CLA250 and more performance-oriented AMG CLA35.
While total output for the CLA250 remains at 221 horsepower, the generator provides a 13-hp boost in certain situations and allows owners to coast with the engine off. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic is still the default transmission, with front-wheel drive standard and all-wheel drive optional. The CLA35 gets the same mild-hybrid system as the CLA250, but output is up to 302 hp. At the top end of the lineup lies the CLA45, which has dropped the standard variant for 2024 in favor of the CLA45 S; it benefits from an updated version of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder and makes 416 hp, a gain of 34 hp over the previous CLA45. Both AMG variants come with AWD only.
Updated Looks
Mercedes chose to give the CLA Coupe a mild facelift, featuring redesigned LED headlights, a revamped front grille and a tweaked front bumper. Around back, a new rear diffuser design complements newly standard LED taillights. The AMG lineup follows suit with the rest of the upgrades, as the interiors mirror the 250’s updates (albeit with higher-quality materials and racier accents). Several new upholstery options will be available, and buyers will still benefit from the AMG Performance steering wheel.
Standard and Optional Safety Tech
In addition to its styling and performance upgrades, the 2024 CLA Coupe also gets an upgraded suite of driver-assist technology. The latest version of the Parking Package is standard and uses a 360-degree camera system with 3D imagery to help improve parking. The available Driver Assistance Package comes with an upgraded lane departure steering assist that Mercedes says operates more smoothly thanks in part to its active steering control.
Pricing and Release Date
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe is expected to make its way to dealerships later this year. Expect pricing information and fuel economy figures to be released closer to its on-sale date.
