What Is the 2023 Mazda3?

The 2023 Mazda3 is a compact car available as a sedan or hatchback. The base engine is a 191-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired with a six-speed automatic transmission; an available turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder delivers 227 hp on regular gas, 250 hp on premium. A six-speed manual is also available, but only on the front-wheel-drive version of the hatchback in Premium trim. All-wheel drive is optional on select trims.

What’s New on the 2023 Mazda3?

The sedan-only base 2.0 model and its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine have been discontinued, leaving the 2.5-liter four-cylinder as the entry-level power plant. That engine gets a slight horsepower boost, up to 191 hp from 186 hp. The Carbon Edition trim can now have all-wheel drive.

What Features in the 2023 Mazda3 Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Push-button start
  • 8.8-inch multimedia screen
  • Voice commands
  • Eight-speaker stereo
  • LED headlights and taillights
  • Keyless entry
  • Bluetooth
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane keep assist

Available features include:

  • All-wheel drive
  • Moonroof
  • Head-up instrument display
  • Paddle shifters
  • Leather-trimmed seats
  • Heated front seats
  • Power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory feature
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Navigation
  • Bose premium stereo
  • Blind spot warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert

Should I Buy the 2023 Mazda3?

The Mazda3 is a great choice for shoppers looking for something small, sporty and fuel-efficient. Choosing between the sedan and hatchback is mostly a toss-up; the sedan has better outward visibility, while the hatch delivers more cargo space. Having AWD on the option sheet is another plus for the fun-loving Mazda3. Top trims fitted with the turbo engine get pricey, but the cabin has the look and feel of a near-luxury vehicle.

Awesome little car!

The sound system is amazing. I upgraded my old Mazda 3, 2015 to a 2023. The inside is much quieter. I love my heated seats. We've owned many Mazdas and have loved them all. The reliable little cars with great gas mileage.

I bought a Mazda Carbon Edition S 2.5 sedan and I love it! It handles so very well and takes the turns well. The color is the bluish gray. The stylist design of the car body is awesome. I enjoy driving a sedan once again instead of a SUV. The car is most comfortable to sit in. The dealership where I purchased it was wonderful to deal with as were the salesmen and the manager, Sam, who I met. My Carbon Edition is just awesome to drive. The interior is a burgundy color and the appointments in it are very stylish. I am still learning how to use all instruments on the dash, but I haven’t spent as much time doing so as I should have. My salesman,Luke , has offered to help with this if I want him to. I thoroughly recommend a Mazda to everyone, maybe a sedan is not what you want, you might want another model. I have had two SUVs and I wanted a change when I purchased a new car. Buy a Mazda.
