The Lincoln Aviator is a three-row mid-size luxury SUV that competes with a wide range of rivals, including the Genesis GV80, Lexus RX, Acura MDX and Volvo XC90. A smooth ride and powerful 400-horsepower, twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 make this Lincoln both a calming and quick place in which to spend your time. The cabin is top-quality, but the third-row seats will be best used only by kids. Unfortunately, the pricey Grand Touring PHEV loses the plot somehow; it’s powerful, sure, but its ho-hum electric driving range simply isn’t worth its elevated price.
