What Is the 2023 Lincoln Aviator?

The Lincoln Aviator is a three-row mid-size luxury SUV that competes with a wide range of rivals, including the Genesis GV80, Lexus RX, Acura MDX and Volvo XC90. A smooth ride and powerful 400-horsepower, twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 make this Lincoln both a calming and quick place in which to spend your time. The cabin is top-quality, but the third-row seats will be best used only by kids. An available plug-in hybrid version called the Grand Touring churns out 494 hp and an EPA-estimated electric-only range of 21 miles. This model is very expensive, however.

What’s New on the 2023 Lincoln Aviator?

There are no major changes to the Aviator for the 2023 model year. A Black Label Special Edition Luxe Package debuts, and the Jet appearance package – which replaces this SUV’s exterior chrome trim with black pieces and adds body-colored trim around the wheels – is now available on Black Label and Reserve trims.

What Features in the 2023 Lincoln Aviator Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 10.1-inch touchscreen
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Amazon Alexa
  • Four USB ports
  • Wi-Fi hot spot
  • Satellite radio
  • Tri-zone climate control
  • 10-speaker audio system
  • Power-adjustable front seats
  • Heated front seats
  • Automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning
  • Blind spot warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Front and rear parking sensors

Available features include:

  • Leather seating
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Quad-zone climate control
  • Navigation
  • Wireless device charging
  • Panoramic moonroof
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Surround-view parking camera
  • 20-inch alloy wheels

Should I Buy the 2023 Lincoln Aviator?

Lincoln has a recent habit of delivering luxury SUVs that are not only roomy, quiet and relaxing to drive, but also relatively affordable compared with pricier rivals. The three-row Aviator is no exception: It’s attractive, comfortable and has an infotainment system that takes only a moment to master. Unfortunately, the pricey Grand Touring PHEV loses the plot somehow; it’s powerful, sure, but its ho-hum electric driving range simply isn’t worth its elevated price.

Check the options

We bought the standard model and now wish we had gone up to the Reserve level as some of the luxury options that we assumed came with the Lincoln name were missing.

What a beauty

Such a beauty. Just traded in my 2019 430i and my 2021 xi for a 23 Black Belt white Lincoln Aviator. But, I found out I bought a car that has a recall awaiting for it's correction sometime soon. Don't know when it well fixed, hope very soon. What a bummer. Only 1 in the nation with that color exterior and interior, and I just bought it. Love the buttons on the grill. The camel and black exterior.
