While the standard four-cylinder engine keeps the price low (and comes standard with AWD), the available V-6 is simply the better choice. It offers seamless acceleration and operates in near silence. Cabin quality is another aspect of the ES range that deserves high praise; there are soft-touch surfaces and nicely damped controls everywhere you look (and touch). True, the ES is not a particularly sporty ride even in its optional F Sport trim, but its overall refinement, ample feature content and strong safety scores make the ES worth a test drive.
