What Is the 2019 Kia Sportage?

The Kia Sportage is a five-seat compact SUV that offers a choice of two four-cylinder engines, including a turbocharged one. All trim levels have a six-speed automatic transmission, and front- and all-wheel-drive versions are available. Competitors include the Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V.

What’s New on the 2019 Kia Sportage?

The LX Popular Package gets a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system, automatic air conditioning, an automatic defogger and an air ionizer. New features for the mid-level EX trim include blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert and heated, power-folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals. The top-of-the-line SX Turbo gains an electronic parking brake with auto-hold capability.

What Features in the 2019 Kia Sportage Are Most Important?

Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, a 5-inch touchscreen stereo and Bluetooth. Available features include leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, navigation, a Harman Kardon premium stereo and push-button start. Available active safety features include automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning.

Should I Buy the 2019 Kia Sportage?

The top-end SX Turbo is fun to drive but is one of the pricier entrants in the class. The base LX is a good value, but the EX is more of a sweet spot and can be equipped with available active safety features. An updated Sportage arrives as a 2020 model.

KIA Theft Problem!!!

Why is nobody mentioning the theft problem with these Kia SUVs. My 2019 Kia Sportage has been stolen 3 times and all 4 tires stolen once due to no immobilizers in these and no locks on the tires. I live in a nice neighborhood where you would not even expect this. Kia does NOTHING to help customers in this situation. It takes weeks to get the parts and it costs me nearly $2000 to replace the ignition every time this happens. You might want to google KIA thefts and lawsuit before you purchase this.
