What Is the 2024 Kia K5?

The Kia K5 is a mid-size sedan with a stylish exterior and a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder under its hood. This engine delivers 180 horsepower to the front wheels in most trims or to all four when all-wheel drive is added to the GT-Line trim. While it looks racy, the K5’s performance is more in line with competitors including the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, and Toyota Camry. If you want something wilder, the GT trim comes with a 290-hp, turbo 2.5-liter four-cylinder that gives the K5 some speed to back up its bold styling.

What’s New on the 2024 Kia K5?

The only notable change to the 2024 K5 is that heated front seats are now standard on FWD versions of the GT-Line.

What Features in the 2024 Kia K5 Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 8-inch touchscreen
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Two USB ports
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Lane departure warning
  • Forward collision warning
  • Driver-drowsiness monitor
  • Pedestrian detection

Available features include:

  • Panoramic sunroof
  • 10.25-inch touchscreen
  • Remote start
  • Navigation
  • Satellite radio
  • Blind spot warning
  • Sport-tuned suspension (GT)
  • 360-degree camera system
  • Bose stereo
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Wireless device charging
  • AWD (GT-Line)

Should I Buy the 2024 Kia K5?

The K5 has sporty looks and tons of standard features. Granted, its performance isn’t as invigorating as its styling (unless you pony up for the frisky GT trim). Making AWD available is a plus point for sedan shoppers in areas where roads can get slick with rain or snow, but we wish backseat headroom wasn’t so stingy for adults, and that the optional 10.25-inch infotainment system included wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (it doesn’t even though the base 8-inch touchscreen does). All things considered, the K5 is a competent family car with stand-out-from-the-crowd style and a great warranty attached to it.

Repeated engine problems on the 2.

Repeated engine problems on the 2.5 turbo 4 in my GT, very concerning. Will not keep car beyond the warranty period, too risky. Also some electronic gremlins that took several service visits to diagnose and fix.
