Jeep has confirmed the 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain that made the Wrangler the bestselling plug-in hybrid in the U.S. is coming to the Gladiator, but it won’t arrive until later in 2025. For now, the big news is that the six-speed manual transmission is no longer available.

The eight-speed automatic transmission, previously a $2,500 option, is now standard across the line, as are power windows and locks. Two new paint colors and the ability to ventilate the cabin prior to getting in via the Jeep Connect app are now available. Accounting for those additions, the Gladiator’s $205 base-price increase from the 2024 model year is actually a significant reduction.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

While the pricier Gladiators include beefier transfer cases and lower final drive ratios, as well as limited-slip and locking differentials, all get the same 3.6-liter V-6 engine and — now — eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine makes 285 horsepower and 260 pounds-feet of torque. Four-wheel drive is, of course, standard. EPA-rated fuel economy checks in at 17/22/19 mpg city/highway/combined.

Availability and Pricing

The 2025 Jeep Gladiator will go on sale later in 2024. Full pricing (including the $1,895 destination fee) is as follows:

  • Sport: $39,995
  • Nighthawk: $42,790
  • Sport S: $43,495
  • Willys: $47,095
  • Mojave: $52,995
  • Rubicon: $52,995

Trim Levels

The base Jeep Gladiator Sport features black 17-inch steel wheels wearing 32-inch all-season tires, skid plates for the fuel tank and transfer case, black fenders and manually adjustable side mirrors. Interior equipment includes push-button start, manually adjustable front seats, eight speakers, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and satellite radio.

Introduced for 2024, the Nighthawk features similar content to the Sport but rides on black 20-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires and gets a limited-slip rear differential, body-color hardtop and fenders, black exterior accents and rock rails to protect the lower edges of the cab from damage off-road.

The Sport S upgrades the basic Sport with 17-inch aluminum wheels and a Gorilla Glass windshield for better chip resistance (the Gladiator’s upright glass is particularly susceptible), plus adaptive cruise control.

A budget-minded alternative to the high-dollar off-roaders above it, the Willys rolls on 32-inch mud tires and features a locking rear differential, rock rails, a heavy-duty cooling system and a Class IV hitch receiver. Comfort and tech upgrades include keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlights and foglights, and heated power mirrors.

The Mojave and Rubicon are focused on different types of off-roading: the Mojave on high-speed desert running and the Rubicon on low-speed rock crawling. Both are fitted with front skid plates and brush guards, 33-inch all-terrain tires, wide-track front and rear axles with a lower final drive ratio, two-piece fenders providing greater clearance for larger tires, an in-bed power outlet and upgraded cloth upholstery.

The Mojave also features a 1-inch front-suspension lift, Fox remote-reservoir shock absorbers, a unique scooped hood, orange accents and tow hooks, and sport seats with adjustable bolsters. For maximum traction over boulder-strewn trails, the Rubicon features a locking front differential, a stouter transfer case with a lower low range and an electronically disconnecting front anti-roll bar for greater suspension articulation on extreme terrain. Extended rock rails also protect the lower corners of the bed. In place of the Mojave’s orange exterior accents and tow hooks, the Rubicon gets red additions.
