What Is the 2023 Genesis G80?

The 2023 Genesis G80 is a strikingly designed mid-size luxury sedan that competes with the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Cadillac CT5. Available with a 300-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder or a 375-hp, turbo V-6, the G80 stands apart from its rivals thanks to its gorgeous cabin design, roomy backseat and generous warranty.

What’s New on the 2023 Genesis G80?

The G80’s infotainment controller gets a convex design, and an electric-only version called the Electrified G80 (reviewed separately) makes its debut.

What Features in the 2023 Genesis G80 Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 14.5-inch infotainment screen
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Keyless entry
  • Synthetic leather seating surfaces
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot monitor
  • Driver attention monitor
  • Power trunk lid
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Four USB ports
  • Satellite radio
  • Ambient cabin lighting
  • Heated front seats

Available features include:

  • All-wheel drive
  • Tri-zone climate control
  • Power rear sunshade
  • Leather seating surfaces
  • Power soft-closing doors
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Remote parking assist
  • Heated rear seats
  • 360-degree camera system

Should I Buy the 2023 Genesis G80?

The Genesis G80 is sleek and elegant, and its no-excuses cabin competes with the best mid-size luxury sedans out there. Downsides include some frustrating menus in the infotainment system — not to mention its thirst for fuel when you opt for the turbocharged V-6. Still, with a wealth of standard comfort, safety and tech features, the G80 is a good value in a class that isn’t known for being forgiving to car shoppers’ budgets.

I owned a 2022 G80 Sport Prestige for 7 months.

I owned a 2022 G80 Sport Prestige for 7 months. It was an impeccably built and beautiful car. I loved the rear wheel steering, soft close doors, comfortable seats and exquisite interior that you can't get anywhere at this price. After waiting at the local dealership for 5 months for parts and service, it was destroyed by a hail storm. The dark side of owning a Genesis is the atrocious dealer service! Beware.
