What Is the 2023 Ford F-150?

As the bestselling pickup truck in the U.S., there are seemingly endless ways to customize the 2023 Ford F-150 for a wide variety of tasks. There are three cab styles, three cargo-bed lengths and seven powertrains available, including a 250-horsepower diesel V-6; a 430-hp, full-hybrid V-6; and a 700-hp, supercharged V-8 in the new-for-2023 Raptor R. The all-electric F-150 Lightning is reviewed separately in Cars.com’s Research section. The most basic F-150 is a bargain-minded workhorse, while the highest trims have enough power, luxury and tech to make many premium-brand vehicles blush. The F-150’s rivals are the Chevrolet Silverado 1500GMC Sierra 1500, Nissan Titan, Ram 1500 and Toyota Tundra.

What’s New on the 2023 Ford F-150?

The new Rattler trim includes off-road-focused features like underbody skid plates, all-terrain tires, an upgraded suspension, a dual-exhaust system, rock-crawling mode, hill descent control and, of course, Rattler logos inside and out. Also arriving is an over-the-top Raptor R; building upon the already wild foundation provided by the Raptor, the R version features a 700-hp V-8, plus beefed-up driveline components and giant 37-inch tires. There’s also a Heritage Edition appearance package available for the XLT trim level that adds a nostalgic two-tone paint scheme.

What Features in the 2023 Ford F-150 Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 8-inch touchscreen
  • Three-seat regular cab
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Wi-Fi hot spot
  • Cloth seats
  • Forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Automatic high-beam headlights

Available features include:

  • 12-inch infotainment screen
  • Wireless device charging
  • Power-operated running boards
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Heated rear seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster
  • Bang & Olufsen audio system
  • Leather seating

Should I Buy the 2023 Ford F-150?

If you’re in the market for a full-size pickup, the F-150 absolutely deserves a spot on your shopping list. With so many ways to spec this Ford truck, finding that perfect balance of toughness, fuel economy, cabin room, and towing or hauling capability is a cinch — though sifting through this truck’s enormous options sheet takes planning and patience. Raptor and Raptor R models have incredible power and off-road capability, along with giant price tags that reflect as much. Thankfully, even at its most basic, the Ford F-150 is a savvy, rock-solid choice.

I have 2 F150s.

I have 2 F150s. A 2013 with 286,000 miles and a 2017 with 152,000 miles. They both run perfect and they are very impressive vehicles. I owned a 1500 Z71 prior and that was basically junk.

First off, when someone says the truck drives and rides

First off, when someone says the truck drives and rides horrible, did they not know we are entitled to test drive the truck first before purchasing. I love my 2023 Ford F150 XLT crew/camper package 6.5' box so far. Put about 5000 miles on it. Purchased used with low mileage. It has all the bells and whistles except for leather seats. Rides great, quiet, and more technology than I'll probably ever use. Endless supply of power with the 3.5 engine and all around mileage about 18-20 and 22-23 on the highway. I liked my 2012 Lariat but mileage was 14.5 all around. I test drove a Dodge and Chevy, but I like the feel of the Ford truck with Dodge a very close second. Chevy feels like the frame is weak and flexes over bumps.
