What Is the 2021 Ford Expedition?

Offered in regular- and extended-length Max form, the Ford Expedition full-size SUV seats five people in two rows or up to eight people in three rows. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine that makes 375 or 400 horsepower depending on the trim level. The V-6 teams with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and rear- and four-wheel-drive models are offered. Competitors include the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, Toyota Sequoia and Nissan Armada

What’s New on the 2021 Ford Expedition?

A new two-row XL trim level is now the base model, and a new STX Package features a five-bar grille, tri-zone automatic air conditioning and an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity.

What Features in the 2021 Ford Expedition Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Push-button start
  • 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot (data subscription required after trial)
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Lane-keeping assist
  • Automatic high-beam headlights

Available features include:

  • Panoramic moonroof
  • Power running boards
  • Power liftgate
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Power-adjustable pedals with memory feature
  • Second-row captain’s chairs
  • Power third-row seat
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Heated second-row seats
  • Navigation
  • B&O premium stereo
  • Wireless device charging
  • Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability

Should I Buy the 2021 Ford Expedition?

The Expedition has plenty of capability — it’ll tow up to 9,300 pounds when properly equipped — and it offers lots of tech features. It’s roomy, rides well and has a powerful drivetrain, too. It can get pricey and towing disproportionately drags down fuel economy, but the Expedition is an impressive full-size SUV overall.

Ford You Suck!

Update from a previous review: This is more than foul! Nobody should have to put up with a crap vehicle that is less than 3 years old and has under 18,000 miles on it. How does the United States allow corporations like Ford to build crap and get away with it?! I would rather buy a Chinese car at this point! My liftgate struts and rear window struts are weakened. Are you kidding me? I have a 2005 Tahoe and I only changed the struts on those once about 8 years ago. They are still powerful as ever. And the weatherstripping that is on the side just above the running boards is coming off of this crappy 2021 Expedition. Also, I'm still trying to deny it in my head because it's about to explode, but I am having some weird hurky jerky movements when the transmission shifts gears. Speechless...Ford makes me vomit. I should have bought another Tahoe!!!
