What Is the 2021 Dodge Charger?

The Dodge Charger is a full-size sedan that can seat up to five people. It runs on a standard 292-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine that works with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Also available are a 370-hp, 5.7-liter V-8; a 485-hp, 6.4-liter V-8; and a 717- or 797-hp, supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. Rear- and all-wheel-drive versions are offered. Competitors include the Nissan Maxima and Toyota Avalon.

What’s New on the 2021 Dodge Charger?

A new SRT Hellcat Redeye features a 797-hp, supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine along with flared fenders and wider wheels and tires. Brembo disc brakes and Bilstein adaptive shocks are also included. The SRT Hellcat model continues and is now rated at 717 hp — 10 hp more than last year. Both Hellcat sedans get a new hood and updated trim, while GT models with AWD get new 20-inch wheels.

What Features in the 2021 Dodge Charger Are Most Important?

  • Wide range of powertrains
  • Rear- or all-wheel drive
  • 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system standard
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity standard
  • Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking available

2021 Dodge Charger Vs. 2021 Toyota Avalon: How Do They Compare?

If you’re willing to trade ride comfort and cabin roominess for performance and attitude, the Charger takes the lead. It offers a range of V-8 engines, whereas the Avalon has just four-cylinder or V-6 power. The front-wheel-drive Avalon also comes in fewer varieties, though Toyota does offer a TRD performance version. The Avalon is also available in gas-electric hybrid form, which the Charger doesn’t offer. Both cars pack plenty of available multimedia features.

Should I Buy the 2021 Dodge Charger

With its rear-wheel-drive platform and available high-output V-8 engines, the Charger is a bit of an outlier among its competitors. It should be high on your list if you’re looking for a four-door muscle car.

Owned a Dodge Charger GT 2021 for 3 years now.

Owned a Dodge Charger GT 2021 for 3 years now. Grey with the nice 245 tires. The care is BEAUTIFUL. I love the style and Dodge give you soo many options to customize it. I added a rear winder louver and some racing stripes. Its a car that looks super fast eventhough its on a V6. But who am I racing in my daily driver? The drive is nice, excellent 305 HP, and massive caliphers along with rotors gives you excellent stopping power. All is stock. This is a strong rear wheel drive. I see why many people like doing donuts in this car. its fun, but at $400 a tire, not me. The comfort could be better. Plenty of space, as a man who is 6'2 300, very spacious, but the seats are not comfortable for long distance trips, The stereo system is average, nothing to boom or even brag about. I do like all of the electronic features, such as checking your 0-60, sports control, and Mopar app. that keeps you updated on your car needs. The value, I think its a bit over priced. At the time it was $42K, but I traded a 2018 Challenger that knocked off $20k and then Dodge had a special that knocked another $3k off and with 0% financing using Chrysler Capital...it was a deal. I know without these perks I have settled for the SXT. A huge negative about this car, it depreciate badly. Only 3 years and the car lost almost half its value. I support over time, since Dodge stop making these cars in 2023...they may increase in value...but I doubt it. Ask Pontiac.
