What Is the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica?

The front-wheel-drive Chrysler Pacifica is a minivan that seats seven or eight, depending on its interior configuration. It is offered in both regular gas and plug-in hybrid forms. The Pacifica comes standard with a 287-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine that works with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The plug-in hybrid version delivers an EPA-estimated electric range of up to 32 miles from a 16-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack, with a total gas and electric range of 520 miles. Competitors include the Kia Sedona, Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey.

What’s New on the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica?

A new Red S Appearance Package includes unique badging, 20-inch wheels on gas-only models and 18-inch wheels on the plug-in hybrid, red Nappa leather seats with gray piping and stitching, a 20-speaker Harman Kardon premium stereo and the Uconnect Theater rear entertainment system.

Other changes include a honeycomb grille for the plug-in hybrid, a driver’s seat memory feature for Touring L and Touring L Plus trim levels and a universal garage door opener and second-row sunshades for the Touring trim of the plug-in hybrid.

What Features in the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Are Most Important?

Second-row Stow ‘n Go bucket seats that fold into floor bins remain a distinguishing feature that enhances the Pacifica’s versatility, while the available Uconnect multimedia system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen is easy to use. The available dual-screen Uconnect Theater rear-seat entertainment system is a hit with kids, and the Pacifica Hybrid lets you drive gas-free for shorter trips while still being able to tackle a family road trip.

Should I Buy the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica?

Quiet, comfortable and versatile, the Pacifica minivan impressed us so much that we named it our Best of 2017 when it debuted. We still think it’s a great choice for families, though its occasionally unrefined nine-speed automatic transmission has dampened our enthusiasm a bit. If you’re looking for an environmentally friendly family vehicle, the Pacifica Hybrid is a solid, albeit somewhat expensive, choice.

Love My Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid

Only 2 items that need to be addressed is the volume control the navigation system plus headlights are not good for night driving. As of December 2022 I drove all around the USA putting on 60,000 miles on my 2020 Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid. Love and enjoyed driving this Great Product.

Nice on paper, headache in reality.

Purchased new in September 2020. Began having problems with heater/defrost within a couple months. Vehicle started itself in driveway while unplugged, interior was very hot when discovered, including driver side floor and dash, though climate was off. 8 months after purchase check engine light came on while on road trip. At 2500 miles the vehicle was diagnosed with needing new battery coolant heater. Had to leave at service center 700 miles from home. Delivered 3 weeks later with body damage that Chrysler did not cover. Continued to have intermittent heat/defrost problems. Service center said no codes meant no problems. 9 months after battery coolant heater replaced, check engine light came on again. Same code. Turns out this is a major problem for these vehicles. Now service center saying the intermittent heat/defrost problem IS related to battery coolant heater defect. So many vans having this problem that the parts are backordered for months and there is a backlog of customers waiting for repair. This van looks nice and has nice specs, but it has had more problems than all the old, used cars I've ever owned combined. Never again.
