Anyone looking for a basic mid-size truck with a reasonable price tag, reasonable fuel economy and room for five onboard will be happy with the base WT trim. Scaling up to a Trail Boss, Z71 or ZR2 variant gives the Colorado outstanding off-road credentials and should appeal to adventure-seeking truck shoppers. There are some hard plastics throughout the interior, however, and the Colorado’s former diesel engine option was dropped with the 2023 redesign. Rear legroom is also skimpy, so don’t plan on seating long-limbed adults back there for any length of time.
