Expert 2025 Chevrolet Blazer review

chevrolet blazer 2025 exterior oem 01 scaled jpg

It must be a tough time for the gas-burning Chevrolet Blazer, as its name and share of the spotlight gets highjacked by an unrelated electric SUV. The Blazer is getting old, too; 2025 marks its seventh model year since a major redesign. It’s not surprising, then, that Chevy’s mid-size SUV shuffles into 2025 with no significant changes. Habanero Orange joins the color palette, and the Redline Edition appearance package is now available in Iridescent Pearl Tricoat. Starting at $36,795, the Blazer’s price doesn’t budge a buck from 2024, either (all prices include $1,395 destination fee).

Powertrain Specs and MPG

The Blazer’s standard engine is a 228-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 258 pounds-feet of torque. A 308-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 with 270 pounds-feet of torque is available for $500 on the 3LT and Premier trim levels and standard on the range-topping RS. Both engines are teamed with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive available across the line for an additional $2,700 ($2,900 on the Premier and RS).

The four-cylinder Blazer gets an EPA-rated 22/29/25 mpg city/highway/combined with FWD and 22/27/24 mpg with AWD. The V-6 is rated at 19/26/22 mpg with FWD and 18/26/21 mpg with AWD.

Availability and Pricing

The 2025 Chevrolet Blazer is on sale now. Pricing is as follows:

  • 2LT: $36,795
  • 3LT: $40,695
  • Premier: $44,195
  • RS: $44,195

Safety Features and Trim Levels

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on every 2025 Blazer and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane departure steering assist, a following distance indicator and automatic high beams. Teen driver settings and a rear-seat reminder are also standard.

In addition, the 2LT includes 18-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting, keyless entry and start, and remote start. The 2LT’s cabin is upholstered in cloth and features a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, rear vents, six speakers, and a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 3LT gains blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors, as well as heated side mirrors, a power liftgate, perforated leather upholstery and a power-adjustable passenger seat.

The Premier gets its own shiny grille and exterior trim, plus 20-inch wheels and a hands-free power liftgate. Inside, it adds a heated steering wheel, an 8-inch driver information display, navigation, ambient lighting and an eight-speaker Bose sound system.

The RS copies the Premier’s luxury and tech features, but it swaps out the shiny exterior bits for darkened and black pieces.
