Expert 2025 Buick Envista review

Our expert's take

buick envista avenir 2024 exterior oem 13 jpg

Buick’s sleek subcompact crossover, the Envista, is a hit. It was introduced for the 2024 model year and is already challenging the Encore GX as the brand’s bestseller. Given the Envista’s vogue raked roofline and low-$20,000s starting price, it’s not hard to understand its appeal. For 2025, buyers get some different color choices as well as standard remote start and rear parking sensors, but the Envista is otherwise unchanged.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

An equally tidy engine powers the subcompact Envista: a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder that generates 137 horsepower and 162 pounds-feet of torque. While many of the Buick’s competitors rely on continuously variable automatic transmissions, the Envista sticks with a six-speed automatic. Shoppers looking for SUV capability should look elsewhere, however — perhaps to the Encore GX, even — as the Envista is only available with front-wheel drive. Its EPA-rated fuel economy stands at 28/32/30 mpg city/highway/combined.

Availability and Pricing

The 2025 Buick Envista is on sale now. Full pricing (including $1,095 destination) is as follows:

  • Preferred: $24,795
  • Sport Touring: $26,195
  • Avenir: $29,695

Safety Features and Trim Levels

Buick’s Driver Confidence Package is standard on every 2025 Envista and includes lane departure warning, lane departure steering assist, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, a following-distance indicator and automatic high beams. Teen Driver, which limits certain vehicle functions when a specific key is used to start the vehicle, and Buckle to Drive, which prevents the vehicle from being shifted out of Park until the driver’s seat belt is fastened, are also standard. Adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert are optional.

The entry-level Preferred trim is basic but not spartan. It rides on 17-inch wheels and has LED exterior lighting and heated side mirrors. The Preferred is upholstered in cloth and features manually adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, Wi-Fi, six speakers and an 11-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Sport Touring is largely an appearance package, with black 18-inch wheels and exterior trim; it also nets synthetic leather upholstery.

At the top of the range, the Avenir packs a load of luxury features into (and under) the Envista’s compact package. It rides on 19-inch wheels and a unique rear suspension for more sophisticated ride and handling. It also features a power liftgate, keyless entry and start, and unique exterior and interior trim. The cabin is upholstered in perforated leather with contrast stitching and features a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats and wireless phone charging.
