What Is the 2016 BMW M5?

The 2016 BMW M5 is a five-seat sports sedan that competes with the Audi RS7 and Mercedes-AMG E. It's offered in one rear-wheel-drive trim level. This is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series sedan, which is covered separately as the 528, 535 and 550.

What's New on the 2016 BMW M5?

The 2016 BMW M5 now comes standard with a power trunk lid, an upgraded USB port and enhanced Bluetooth functionality. The 2016 model year also sees the introduction of the limited-edition Pure Metal Silver BMW M5.

What Features in the 2016 BMW M5 Are Most Important?

The 2016 BMW M5 is powered by a turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine that produces 560 horsepower and 500 pounds-feet of torque; this engine comes mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Significant standard features include a rear spoiler, quad exhaust tips, an Active M rear differential, adjustable shock absorbers with three modes, adjustable steering effort, launch control and M blue-painted brake calipers. As required in all 2016 vehicles, the M5 comes standard with front airbags, antilock brakes and an electronic stability system.

Significant optional features include a six-speed manual transmission, a carbon-ceramic brake system and the Competition Package, which raises horsepower to 575. Launch control is not available on models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission.

Should I Buy the 2016 BMW M5?

The 2016 BMW M5's output is impressive, and the experience of stepping on the gas is downright thrilling, with quick acceleration and steering modes that allow you to find your comfort zone. This, combined with the premium cabin materials and unique M5 styling cues, make this quite an attractive package. On the other hand, it's quite heavy – its curb weight is more than two tons – and its manual transmission feels sloppy in comparison with both competitors' manuals and the M5's own standard dual-clutch automatic. The rear seat is also quite cramped, making it a suboptimal choice for a family vehicle.

Bmw m5 is a Beast on wheels

I am a automotive mechanic and have been looking for an amazing car. Test drove GTR, SHELBY GT500, CORVETTE, SUPRA ECT. Never thought that a 4 door Sedan like an F10 M5 machine would change my mind on the whole situation. This is by far the best car you can get for the money and none of the others can even keep up with it
