2004 Audi S4 consumer reviews

I really like the way this car drives all year around. Performance is beyond imagination and maximum amount of torque is available at a very low RPM(3500) enabling better handling on curves. I do believe that the Audi dealrships are not still not on par with their competitors like BMW and Mercedes.

Where I live, BMW M3 convertibles are a dime a dozen, and I was looking for a quality sports convertible that wasn't an M3. The Benz CLK430's are nice but only come in automatic transmission, and I like stick-shifts. I love the Audi's austere styling; the M3 just seems like its trying too hard to look fast. I've test driven them all, and the Audi S4 wins in the fun-to-drive contest in that it has a throaty V8 roar, great power, an amazing torque curve (its the torque that makes a car feel fast & powerful, and this car has 44 Ft-Lbs more than the M3) and the Quattro all-wheel-drive handling is amazing. My car is a manual 6-speed transmission, which because of all the torque takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do its a blast to drive. I'm 6'3" tall and I find it quite roomy. The interior is classy and extremly well built. The car has a very small gas tank (16 gal), and with its poor gas mileage that means lots of fillups. However, given the car's power and all-wheel-drive nature, the gas mileage is about what you'd expect. So far, I've had zero reliability complaints. All-in-all, I love this car.

This car is meant to be driven . . fast. It corners unlike any other car I've owned. It will not be the most comfortable ride for those in the back seat ~ but it wasn't meant to be. I have never had an issue with anything on the car after two years. It goes through tires rather quickly, but it could be the fun that we have with it that cases that. If you're interested in enjoying driving every time you go somewhere, buy this car.
