What Is the 2023 Audi A8?

The 2023 A8 is Audi’s largest, most luxurious, most expensive sedan. Sitting above the mid-size A6, the A8 competes with the BMW 7 Series, Genesis G90 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The A8’s cabin offers abundant space in both rows, with indulgent options like massaging seats, reclining rear seats, and heated front and rear armrests. Getting the A8 down the road is a 335-horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission; Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive is standard. For added performance, the S8 comes with a 563-hp, twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8.

What’s New on the 2023 Audi A8?

Fresh from a styling update for the 2022 model year, the 2023 version of the A8 has only a few minor changes. The optional Comfort Plus Package now includes HD matrix-design LED headlights, and remote park assist is newly grouped into the available Executive Package.

What Features in the 2023 Audi A8 Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Dual-screen infotainment system
  • 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Adaptive air suspension
  • Panoramic moonroof
  • Leather upholstery
  • Wireless device charging
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Four-zone automatic climate control
  • Power rear sunshades
  • Bang & Olufsen stereo

Available features include:

  • Massaging front seats
  • Massaging, power-adjustable rear seats
  • Heated and ventilated rear seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Head-up display
  • Blind spot warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Four-wheel steering

Should I Buy the 2023 Audi A8?

The A8 gets you down the road in sublime comfort and quietness. Its conservative approach to a full-size luxury sedan lacks some of the razzle-dazzle design and features found in rivals, such as the 56-inch Hyperscreen display available in the Mercedes S-Class, yet it has more than enough power and prestige to satisfy the vast majority of car shoppers who can afford a top-of-the-line Audi sedan. The cabin tech has a learning curve, but it’s highly customizable and has quick response times. Trunk space is just OK for a vehicle this size, however, and safety features like blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert should be standard equipment, but they aren’t.
