What Is the 2024 Acura RDX?

The 2024 Acura RDX is a five-seat luxury compact SUV with sporting intentions. The sole powertrain is a 272-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive has been discontinued for 2024; all RDXs are now all-wheel drive. This SUV’s simple lineup includes sporty-looking A-Spec models with special trim but no performance enhancements. RDX competitors include the BMW X3, Cadillac XT4, Lexus NX, Lincoln Corsair and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class

What’s New on the 2024 Acura RDX?

Other than AWD now coming standard, the RDX carries over with no changes for 2024.

What Features in the 2024 Acura RDX Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Panoramic moonroof
  • Touchpad infotainment interface
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
  • Wireless phone charging
  • Amazon Alexa
  • Nine-speaker audio system
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Imitation-leather sport seats
  • 12-way power seats
  • Heated front seats
  • Adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane departure warning with steering assist
  • Blind spot warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert

Available features include:

  • 16-speaker premium audio
  • Leather seating
  • 16-way power seats
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Heated rear seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Open-pore wood trim
  • 360-degree camera system
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • 10.5-inch head-up display
  • Remote engine start
  • 20-inch wheels

Should I Buy the 2024 Acura RDX?

The Acura RDX finds a sweet spot between affordable mainstream-brand SUVs and pricier rivals from other luxury brands. It’s a stylish everyday driver with solid build quality and enough verve for a fun weekend drive, but many drivers find its touchpad infotainment interface finicky. Its turbo four-cylinder is respectably energetic, but the RDX doesn’t offer a hybrid powertrain for better fuel economy or a higher-output engine to really spice up performance.

Stay away from this vehicle

Have to use premium gas. Every 12,000 miles the awd system has to be flushed driving up maintenance costs. You pay mid $50’s and they want you to buy floor mats REALLY. I’d stay away from this vehicle.
